About Us

Helping Canadian Priests

Canadian Priests for the Third Millenium was formed by priests, for priests. We recognized a need: Vocations Offices across the country are underfunded in their important task of encouraging vocations; discerners and seminarians struggle to shoulder their portion of formation fees; seminaries struggle to offer quality summer placements and study abroad opportunities.

Priests from across Canada banded together to do something about it. Using our combined prayer, hard work and ingenuity we are finding ways to support the future of priestly ministry in our country. CPTM was formed in 2020 and achieved charitable status with the Canadian government in 2021. Our charitable registration number is 775985476 RR 0001

What Drives Us

Our Mission

Canadian Priests for the Third Millennium is engaged in the reform of Catholic priesthood in Canada. We endeavour to see reform in the public perception of Catholic priests, in the attractiveness of the priesthood for young people and in the number and quality of formation opportunities for discerners, seminarians and priests. Our bursary programs exist to meet these ends for individuals, for seminaries, Vocations Offices and religious orders.

Why Support Priests?

In her 2000 year history, the Catholic Church has often seen the faith decline in one area of the world and surge in another. Faith has been sparked for the first time in new regions and faith has been enkindled where it had grown cold. In all of these instances, priests have been instrumental. Where the faith and virtue of clergy has waned, the people have suffered and the faith has declined; where Saints and reformers supported the clergy, the faith has surged. We desire to see a resurgence in faith in Canada. We desire to see the faith preached boldly and effectively. We desire to see the Sacraments celebrated reverently and abundantly.  We need many well-formed priests to accomplish this, and we invite you to be a part of this effort. May God inspire many to join us in our mission!

Every Dollar Counts
